Tea As Medicine

I’m a big fan of tea. I can only handle so much coffee, but tea is subtly energizing to me. With so many varieties and methods of preparation, you will never run out of options. Tea is an invitation to slow down and savor the moment. If you’re sensitive to caffeine, try herbal teas such as peppermint, hibiscus, chamomile etc.

I’ve been blessed by herbalists who have prescribed herbal infusions to heal UTI’s that wouldn’t heal. I was skeptical at first, but after two rounds of antibiotics and no end in sight, I was ready to try anything.

There is something special about ‘drinking your medicine’ in tea form that is healing at a deep level. The magic of boiling water and making your medicine is very empowering. Your body is able to assimilate what it needs. There are no side effects. Most of us are used to buying pills or liquids to heal us.

It may not taste the way you expect, since herbs can be bitter or pungent, but there is something that your body will recognize. Remember the purpose is medicinal.
